Mercer Botanist Wins Star Award

Mercer Botanic Gardens botanist Anita Tiller received the Center for Plant Conservation (CPC) Star Award for her work in the Endangered Species and Native Plant Garden at Mercer.

The CPC, an organization dedicated to preserving native plants in the United States, is maintained by 40 participating botanic institutions. Mercer currently shelters more than 24 rare plants including the Neches River rose-mallow and Houston camphor daisy. Several of these plants are on display in the Endangered Species and Native Plant Garden.
