Two new mobility projects are underway in northern Harris County.
Huffmeister Road will be extended between West Road to State Highway 6. Planned improvements include installation of a four-lane concrete boulevard section with drainage, traffic signal installation on West Road at Huffmeister, and traffic signal modifications at SH 6. Commissioner’s Court awarded the $2.65-million construction contract to Unitas Construction, Inc. Construction is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2018.
Construction has also begun on a 960-foot segment of Spring Stuebner at I-45 that will be expanded from two to four lanes. Once the project is complete, Spring Stuebner will be a four-lane boulevard from the Grand Parkway to the I-45 feeder road entrance ramp. Commissioner’s Court awarded the $531,118 construction contract to D&W Construction. Project completion is scheduled for January 2018.
