Before becoming a mother, Robyn Soileau considered her volunteer experiences as some of the most meaningful in her life. Now, visitors will have access to a wider selection of classic books in a prominent section of the library. The collection includes literary works from famous philosophers, political theorists, and novelists throughout recorded history. Family Place Libraries Coming to Harris County
More programs for toddlers and young children are planned for eight Harris County libraries thanks to a $200,000 donation from the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and Phillips 66. The Harris County Public Library will use the donation to convert eight libraries, including Barbara Bush Branch Library, into Family Place Libraries. The specially designed space will feature interactive materials, early literacy kits, games, toys, music and multimedia resources, learning stations, and of course, books.
