The Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) division administers and manages Precinct 4’s capital improvements program. The CIP program includes road expansion projects, traffic signals and intersection improvements and traffic management systems designed to improve mobility and air quality.
The CIP Division also oversees the Child Safety Fund which is designed to provide sidewalks complying with the sidewalk policy and school zone flashing warning signals in public school zones. To find out if your area meets the criteria for either of these programs, please click Sidewalk Policy or School Zone Flashing Warning Signals for the program’s requirements.
In the Spring of 2012, Precinct 4 pursued the design of 18 Traffic Signal & Intersection Improvement (TS&II) projects valued at $3.6 million. Construction activity began in July 2012 and six of the facilities were installed by October 31, 2012; six locations are currently under construction, and the remaining six intersections are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013. Five additional TS&II projects, valued at $1.3 million, were initiated in November 2012 and are currently in the design phase.
