Learn about local government from the experts and participate in outdoor recreational activities during Civic Adventure Day Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. Local elected officials, including Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle, will answer questions and share information on how local government works.
Attendees will have the chance to visit information booths featuring representatives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Flood Control District, Harris County Public Library, Harris County Public Health, the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, and many more agencies.
Activities include free archery, fishing, dip-netting, and canoeing. All equipment is provided.
Scout groups interested in fulfilling badge requirements will also benefit from the event. Participants will receive a learning passport and can earn stamps for completing activities. Many activities will be geared to parks and civic requirements.
The event is free and open to the public.
