Spring Break is just around the corner, and Mercer Botanic Gardens has big plans!
Mercer’s new four-day Spring Camp aims to help children ages 8 to 11 develop healthy eating habits. Children are invited to explore the world of vegetable gardening by planting, harvesting, and caring for fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Staff also will demonstrate healthy cooking techniques using the Charlie Cart mobile kitchen.
Children will have opportunities to taste fresh produce and engage in fun, outdoor physical activities. Campers are encouraged to share their newfound cooking skills and healthy food choices with their families!
Lessons will be taught using the Junior Master Gardener curriculum, Learn! Grow! Eat! & Go! Spring Camp is Monday, March 11, through Thursday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost per child is $40. Registration is required, and space is limited.
