We need volunteers willing to teach technology classes like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic computer skills. Our staff provides in-person training for volunteers wanting to help with computer classes. Volunteers may also develop a new course. Inquire in person at the center for more details.

Kleb Woods offers volunteer opportunities ranging from gardening and trail maintenance to leading school field trips and building displays. Check out the options below:

  • Help us clear yaupon, privet, Chinese tallow, and other invasive species along the trails. Volunteers meet Mondays from 8 a.m. to noon between December and mid-March.
  • Join us for various outdoor opportunities around the nature center and along the trails on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers care for the butterfly and hummingbird gardens, tend the vegetable garden, grow and transplants trees and shrubs, feed the birds, maintain trails and trail signs, repair boardwalks, spread mulch, remove invasive plants, clean the water features, and more.
  • Do you love festivals? We need 60 – 75 volunteers at the annual Hummingbird Festival in September and a few volunteers at the Diggin’ Old Stuff Festival on the first Saturday in November.
  • Are you a Jack or Jill of all trades? Help hang pictures and build displays in the nature center. Volunteers also host work parties, assist with school field trips, and facilitate service projects for Scouts, master naturalists, church groups, gardening clubs, and other groups.
